Madison, WI – January 28, 2019 – Internal plumbing is at risk of freezing this week as temperatures in Madison hit 20 to 30 degrees below zero.

Madison Water Utility has delayed testing at an East Side well for PFAS (or per- and poly-fluoroalkyls), widely-used chemicals found in food packaging, non-stick cookware, stain-resistant fabrics, and firefighting foams.

Before temperatures plunge below zero this week, Madison Water Utility is reminding people to make sure their pipes are protected.
