Employees interested in leadership may receive a Leadership Certificate, which qualifies employees for specific entry-level supervisory positions.
Obtain permission from your supervisor to attend the Leadership Development Program.

The Certificate Curriculum has two components:
- Core Curriculum (5): The Leadership Development Program consists of five standard course days that everyone must complete.
- Elective Curriculum (3): Participants seeking certification must also complete at least three electives from the regular course catalog.

You will receive this form upon completion of the required core courses.
Employees must complete 40 hours of job shadowing. You will shadow supervisors inside or outside your department, depending on your career plans.
Your leadership project should demonstrate your leadership ability and should implement a change. It should have a specific objective, involve other employees, and have an identifiable starting and ending point. Your project could be the release of a new service or product, or the successful rollout of a new department initiative.
You will set defined goals for your project, which will be evaluated by EDOE, and your supervisor must approve the project. Your project will be graded by either your supervisor or EDOE staff.

Complete both forms listed above and return them to Tory Larson. It is your responsibility to complete all coursework and forms, and all forms must be completed and returned in order to receive formal certification.
