Affirmative Action Plans
The Affirmative Action Plan is designed to ensure that entities seeking to enter into a contract with the City of Madison, are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all. The AA plan identifies targeted areas in which good faith efforts should be made to improve the utilization of applicants and employees;
- Who are women,
- Racial/ethnic group members,
- Or persons with disabilities.
Contract Compliance Programs
The Contract Compliance Program provides education, evaluation and enforcement of the City's equal opportunity and affirmative action policies for all companies doing business with the City of Madison. This is accomplished through various meetings, trainings, audits, onsite visits and mandatory reporting. This program is also responsible for monitoring the compliance of non-exempt contractors, developers, community-based organizations, vendors and suppliers with Madison General Ordinance 39.02 and their affirmative action plan.
Targeted Business Enterprise Programs
Affirmative Action team members also administer our Targeted Business Enterprise Programs, including:
- Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program for Public Works projects,
- Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Programs for CDBG funded projects,
- Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program for USDOT/FTA funded projects.
The Targeted Business Enterprise (TBE) programs work to ensure Small, Minority & Women Business Enterprises, maximize their opportunity to compete for City contracting and procurement opportunities.
